Haliç University is a relatively young university whose establishment does not even date 30 years back, only having been founded in 1998. Nonetheless, the university has definitely not fallen behind due to its age, having already accumulated a number of quality student facilities, and produced about 18 000 graduates who have contributed to their gradual entrance into international university rankings.
The university was established by Bizim Lösemili Çocuklar Vakfı (Our Foundation for Children with Leukemia) and has since expanded to teach courses spread amongst multiple different faculties, with an additional Vocational school and a Graduate Institute in place. As such, the university can cater to a variety of student skill sets, as well as satisfy a variety of educational avenues of pursuit for its prospective students.

The institution, whose main goal is to produce students who can find innovative solutions to problems through a design and creativity lens, also has a substantial international student community, representing at least 80 different countries all over the world. These international students are to pass an English proficiency exam to claim entrance, unless of course, the student is fluent enough and wishes to pursue their studies in Turkish, then they would be required to take a Turkish Language Exam.

However, students who wish to study in the Turkish language will be able to choose from a greater variety of subject matter across all different faculties of study, including those taught at the Vocational School and at PhD level. Despite the limited English-taught subjects available, students enrolled at the university will still benefit from an all-round university experience, including the ability to join a number of clubs tapping into interests such as: faculty-based issues and communities, religion, politics, horse riding, translation, fashion, dance, literature, sports, disability inclusivity, photography, cinema, animals, freedom and justice, drama, entrepreneurship, and so on. Students can also become a part of the university's broadcasting network, Haliç TV, where dynamically produced and youth-led information, news and events are broadcast to students and listeners outside of the student body.
Furthermore, being located in the Middle East, Turkey is another study destination that is rich with culture and history and is known especially for its beautiful ancient Ottoman architecture which still stands to this day. It also doubles as a fantastic vacation destination during semester breaks, allowing for lovely holiday opportunities just as students step off campus.
Finally, the university engages in extensive research production, having five research laboratories for students to make use of: Anatomy Laboratory, Physics Laboratory, Genetics Laboratory, Mac Laboratory, Medical Anatomy Laboratory. Furthermore, there are also three scientific journals through which these research efforts and theories are published, twice a year in both English and Turkish, and they include: Journal of Social Sciences, Journal of Health Sciences, and Journal of Sciences.
