AIU is a university that has turned teaching norms on their heads. Being one of the younger universities, being established in 1998, the university evolved out of the growing era of technology. Therefore, AIU is tapped into advancements in teaching, including the use of technology, as a part of their non-traditional approach.
Being exclusively online, the university has no classrooms and does not require attendance. AIU places the responsibility in the student’s hands, incorporating what they have called a ‘self-instruction’ approach, wherein the student will complete their studies as a part of an experiential learning process, with only some guidance.
Each student’s curriculum is said to be developed to cater to each student uniquely, based on the circumstances surrounding their studies. As such, the degrees are also developed to be more flexible, and to be completed much faster.
The university offers Bachelor’s, Masters, and Doctorates in Arts, Business Administration, and Science, whilst also issuing Certificate, Associate, and Post-Doctorate programmes.
