Aston University has offered education to students for over a century from its Birmingham location. Initially having had its beginnings as a technical school, the institution has since evolved to teach a variety of mediums to its students.

Aston University’s history is rooted in its technological background and research development efforts. In its beginnings, the institution was prominent in the realms of science and technology, which would later come to evolve into engineering fields.

Over time, the university began to integrate Commerce and Arts courses that have continued to form a part of the university’s growing variety of subjects. For its efforts in research, Aston University has had 79% of their research deemed as world-leading, and continues to reproduce quality research each year.

At Aston University, not only will students benefit from an institution that has been commended for its research quality, they will also be doing so in the city of Birmingham, which holds the country’s second-largest student population.

This means that during the completion of their studies, students will be exposed to a large, diverse community of students to engage with, whilst enjoying the opportunity to indulge in the city’s nightlife and diverse culture.

Additionally, the university functions via mixed-teaching methods, with on-campus as well as online learning being available for students to choose from. Aston developed an active role in aiding the Birmingham region's recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic on a sustainability, health, education, and inclusion front, to name a few.

Online learning has been a lasting system of those efforts, now allowing for international students to become a part of the Aston University student body from their countries of origin.

The university's online courses cater most especially to postgraduate qualifications in the business sphere, and are available for international enrolment for students from Canada, the United States, Germany and the Middle East/ United Arab Emirates.

Nevertheless, international students who do not fall under these geographical categories and who would not want to enrol in a business course are still welcome to apply to study on an in-contact basis.

Furthermore, the general subjects available to students enrolled in person include:

  • Business
  • Computer Science
  • Degree Apprenticeships
  • Engineering and Applied Sciences
  • English
  • History
  • Law
