The Cambridge Education Group began its efforts towards student university preparation as early as 1952, and has continued successfully on this necessary educational path.
As stated on their website, the group aims to deliver “the highest quality academic, creative and English Language programmes” to prepare “thousands of students to progress onto the world’s leading universities”.
The programme aims first and foremost, to cater to students’ circumstances and desires by allowing them to choose a study environment that best suits them.
Students can complete pre-university study on-campus via their two in-person centres; ONCAMPUS and Castel, or they can choose to complete qualifications online through their CEG Digital and iheed programmes.
Their university pathway programmes allow students entry into universities all throughout the UK, USA and Europe. All courses are designed to ensure students’ readiness to take on a range of universities in these geographical regions, and therefore ensure guaranteed entry dependent on the student having completed the pre-university preparation course with the relevant criteria.
The in-person pathways for pre-university education include:
ON CAMPUS
Students will be offered the opportunity to study any of the following programmes:
- Foundation (17+) - Prepares students for degrees in: Business, Finance & Management; Computing; Law; Art and Design; Engineering; Social Science; Medicine; Science and Pharmacy; and Media and Humanities.
- English Language (17+) - Offers general English Language skills that would be needed for UK university entrance, such as: speaking, reading, writing, and listening, along with academic writing, critical analysis, referencing, and seminar skill.
- Undergraduate Foundation (17+) - Students will choose 3-4 courses of study, including English, that relate to the intended undergraduate programme that they wish to pursue. This provides more focussed degree preparation.
- International Year One (17+) - This helps international students gain progression into their second year of university. Enrolled students will be able to take 3-4 courses including English Language.
- Master’s Foundation (21+) - Enrolled students will take 2-3 modules, including English, and upon successful completion of the degree, will be able to study towards a Master’s at their chosen university.
- Medicine Undergraduate Foundation (17+) - Offers students a pathway to apply for their first year of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Central Lancashire.
Furthermore, the programme also offers students an iCAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) programme, where students will be granted one Visa that will last them the duration of their studies, without the need for re-application.

- Postgraduate Training and Support - An International Medical Graduate Training Initiative that provides specialist training opportunities to doctors
- Online Language Training Support - Offers expert online training for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and Occupational English Test (OET) exam preparation.
