Birmingham City University has had a long history in education, despite its relatively short period under university status. Dating as far back as 1843, the university finds its start in the realm of creativity, being first established as a College of Art before evolving to incorporate many different faculties of study.
From a College of Art to a Polytechnic, to earning university status in 1992, Birmingham City University has dabbled in many mediums of study to come to the winning educational formula that it possesses today. Furthermore, apart from the variety of schools and their respective subjects of study offered by the university, students can pursue a range of qualification levels whilst they study what they love, and these include: foundation programmes, undergraduate, postgraduate, or integrated masters. Students are also afforded the possibility to study on a full-time or part-time basis, with opportunities available for students to pursue their studies abroad as well or enrol for a work placement and earn real-life work experience.
Outside of studies, the almost 30 000 students enrolled at the university for its excellence in teaching and innovation, will also be able to enjoy the more recreational opportunities offered by the city and the university.
