Hartpury University was initially established in the post-WWII period in England, beginning with a student body of less than 50 students, but since then it has become home for a passionate student population of over 3 500 students. Since its inception, Hartpury has established a space for specialised study in Agricultural, Equine, Animal, Veterinary Nursing, and Sports fields.
The university’s specialised degrees and smaller student population has allowed the institution to build a study environment complete with committed students who will benefit from the ability for a more personal learning experience, whilst also offering them the necessary support they may need for their safety and wellbeing during their study. As a possible result of these factors, the university has been regarded in the top 20 universities in the UK for teaching quality, as well as been ranked first in the UK for postgraduate student satisfaction.
As aforementioned, the university was established in a post-WWII setting, and as a result of the racist sentiments of intolerance that upheld the war, the university’s commitment to transformation in the form of diversity and racial tolerance, stands at the forefront of their values. As such, the university is built upon promoting equality and diversity, which includes the adoption of the International Holocaust Rememberance Alliance (IHRA’s) definition of anti-semitism within their operations, to reinforce this goal towards equality.
