Wrexham Glyndwr Receives Recognition For Student Satisfaction

Located in the largest town in North Wales, Wrexham Glyndwr University became the 10th university in Wales to be formally awarded a university status in 2008. In the Complete University Guide, the Glyndwr receives top ranking for student satisfaction in England and Wales.

It was 14 years ago when Wrexham Glyndwr University became the tenth university in Wales to receive its university status, and the institution has since continued to offer accredited undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as professional courses.

In the newly published 2023 table, the Complete University Guide ranked Glyndwr top for student satisfaction in England and Wales, and then took second place, following University of St Andrews in the United Kingdom.

According to the Guide, at Wrexham Glyndwr University, students will find a friendly, vibrant and inclusive learning community that aims to inspire.

Wrexham Glyndwr University Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Claire Taylor said this impressive result reflects the care and commitment shown by everyone.

Some of the students of this university have also shared that the institution is like a home away from home.

When it comes to student support, academics know students by name and this is the personal approach that the university is renowned for, hence there are high levels of student satisfaction.

It is within the Guide’s individual subject rankings, that Glyndwr has also been ranked first for student satisfaction within the following three subject areas:

  • Agriculture and Forestry
  • Nursing
  • Sociology

In the subject tables, the university reached top place for Graduate Prospects in the Building category, which has courses in Architectural Design Technology (HNC) and a BSc (Hons) in Construction Management.

The Guide has explained that its subject tables are based on five measures (Entry Standards, Student Satisfaction, Research Quality, Graduate Prospects – outcomes and Graduate Prospects – on track) and include 150 universities, university colleges and specialist higher education institutions.

In the Education subject table, Glyndwr has moved 68 places up for student satisfaction, which is impressive for the university.

Glyndwr had also received a similar ranking in The Guardian’s University Guide in September 2021.

According to Prof. Taylor, the university is delighted that the Complete University Guide recognises the positive experience that students have when they study with the institution.
